Transparent Pricing
At Floatin, we believe in transparent pricing. Our fees help us maintain a safe, verified marketplace and provide excellent customer support.
Rental Service Fees
For Renters (Borrowers)
Service Fee: 10% of the rental price
This fee covers payment processing, insurance, and customer support.
For Owners (Lenders)
Service Fee: 5% of the rental earnings
Deducted from your payout. This fee covers payment processing, verification, and platform maintenance.
Example: If you rent an item for $100/day, the renter pays $110 total (including $10 service fee), and the owner receives $95 (after $5 service fee).
Buying & Selling Fees
For Buyers
Service Fee: 5% of the purchase price
This fee covers payment processing and buyer protection.
For Sellers
Service Fee: 3% of the sale price
Deducted from your payout. This fee covers payment processing and platform maintenance.
Payment Processing
All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. Standard payment processing fees are included in the service fees listed above - there are no additional charges.
No Hidden Fees
- No listing fees: It's free to list items for rent or sale
- No membership fees: Creating an account is completely free
- No cancellation fees: Cancel free bookings within 24 hours at no charge
- No withdrawal fees: Transfer your earnings to your bank account for free
Late Return Fees
If a rented item is returned late, automatic late fees apply:
- 0-24 hours late: 50% of daily rate
- 24-48 hours late: 100% of daily rate
- 48+ hours late: Full daily rate + potential item replacement cost
Late fees are automatically charged to the renter's payment method and paid to the owner.
Damage & Loss Protection
All rentals include basic damage protection at no extra cost. For high-value items over $1,000, owners can opt for enhanced protection with a small additional fee (1-2% of rental value).
