Transparent Pricing

At Floatin, we believe in transparent pricing. Our fees help us maintain a safe, verified marketplace and provide excellent customer support.

Rental Service Fees

For Renters (Borrowers)

Booking Fee: 5% of the rental price

This fee covers secure payment processing, user verification, condition reporting, and customer support.

For Owners (Lenders)

No Floatin fees - lending is free!

Keep 100% of your rental earnings.

Example: If you rent an item for $100/day, the renter pays $105 total (including $5 booking fee), and the owner receives the full $100.

Buying & Selling Fees

For Buyers

No Floatin fees - buying is free!

Pay only the listed price. If paying by card, standard payment provider transaction fees may apply.

For Sellers

No Floatin fees - selling is free!

Keep 100% of your sale price. If you choose to accept card payments, the payment provider's transaction fee will be deducted from your payout.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through our payment provider. For rentals, payment processing is included in the service fees. For buying and selling, if card payments are accepted, standard payment provider transaction fees apply.

No Hidden Fees

  • No listing fees: It's free to list items for rent or sale
  • No membership fees: Creating an account is completely free
  • No withdrawal fees: Transfer your earnings to your bank account for free

Late Return Fees

If a rented item is returned late, automatic late fees apply. Fees are charged hourly for the first 4 hours, then at full daily rates.

3-4 hours100% of daily rate (1 full day)
4-24 hours1 full daily rate
24-48 hours2 full daily rates
48-72 hours3 full daily rates

Example with $100/day rental:

  • 1 hour late: $25
  • 2 hours late: $50
  • 3 hours late: $75
  • 4+ hours late: $100 (1 full day)
  • 28 hours late: $200 (2 full days)

Late fees are automatically charged to the renter's payment method and paid in full to the owner. Both renter and owner are notified when late fees are applied.
